Double speed indicators

I know I should know this but what's double speed indicators mean & it's not a blown bulb 'cos I'm not that useless (yet!)
MOT tomorrow, bike not used for months so I was just checking over things and l.h. indicators start at correct speed then nearly immediately go double speed. Interestingly the r.h. start double speed then nearly immediately go to correct speed.
Can't see any light faults, did dash reset, so appreciate any direction guys.

Supposed to mean a turn signal bulb filament has blown. But if all are working, then you’ve got electronic gremlins. Possibly. (?) Slim chance a bad connection is throwing it but bulb still lights. Just a wild guess. Is flasher done in the dash electronics or by a separate “normal” unit?

My guess is an earth fault, could be a loose bulb.
