Hi Gents,
I have a high level of pensiveness ... but if I have stripped down the indicator switch 7/8 times & spent a good couple of hours fettling to stop the lever sticking hard over... I have finally admitted defeat
Now most of the indicator switches you see advertised on flee bay etc. are of the three pin variety ... but I need a four pin switch
Can one of our learned advise the correct part number or where one of these could be purchased??

Many thanks

638708
Available from Suttons at £15 ish. Google the part number for possible alternative suppliers.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but would anybody mind explaining the process to replace the part discussed here? I have a 2007 X9 500 in the US, if that makes a difference.

The simplest way is to use a wide blade (screwdriver) and prise the flat edge of the switch out slightly then stick a finder up the covers below the brake lever and push the switch out. Disconnect the wiring replace the switch and simply push it back into place.
There is no clip or retaining device other than it's a spring fit in the cover.
If you can't do it this way then you will need to lift the digidash up (no need to disconnect it) then remove the two screws at the bottom each side below the push button switches, remove the brake reservoir covers then unclip the forward part of the shrouding. You can then easily push out the switch from behind.

Thanks Dave. I just swapped this out exactly as you described.
