Tonight I solved minor problem with digidash indicator lights turned on (that should not be on).

Now, everything is normal - when I turn key on, and start engine all lights are off, but when I turn headlight on (position 2 or 3), leftmost yellow indicator light comes on (this also happened while I had short-circuiting). I fixed short-circuit problem, so this seems more like regular condition?

Has anyone else here that drives 250cc with honda engine noticed same thing? This is not a real problem, but I am curious what does this light indicate and does is behave same on all X9 of same model.

Left most lamp is the ECU warning lamp on the 500 models, so should be redundant on yours.
The only time that one ever lights is (assuming there isn't an ECU fault) if the battery voltage is rising too high due to a failing regulator, but that is because the excessive voltage causes some of the sensors to go slightly outside of their normal tolerance so triggering a false error. How even that problem could light that warning lamp on a 250SL I don't know.
I wouldn't worry about it anyway.

can this be a bad earth? bit like you get on cars when you loose the earth connection to a head lamp, then both elements in that lamp illuminate at half power, and earthing through the opposite side lamp, or when brake lights flash with indicators.

the way to check is (with the lights fully on), test between the lamp housing (+ meter lead) and the battery negative, should not see more than a volt if the earth is good.

I'm pretty sure that that light on my 250sl was used for something but for the life of me I can't think what - not very helpful, I'll keep thinking.
