Pics Nokia phone connection on X9 Evo

Should, what is normally the charging connector, actually be able to charge a phone that it is plugged into, or is it used simply to give greater stability to the communication plug?  I ask, because mine is dead.  Alternatively, which fuse should I look at?

No it doesn't charge the phone, just utilizes a Nokia common type of plug.

The PICS connector will not charge the phone.  A mistake IMHO - but one that won't be rectified.
