has she ridden a scoot b4? Will she like it? If not bought one 4 nothing. Perhaps better to hire theirs for the day 4 cbt a) in case she hates it and b) in case she slides it, and then if she does like it buy her the 125 to take the lessons and test, if shes ridden b4 go for it.

As much as we all love the X9, it's probably not an ideal choice for these reasons..

It's a relatively large heavy bike which is best suited to the open road. It's not as manoeverable as some of the smaller Piaggios.

Like all scooters, it's easily damaged if dropped. The wing mirrors on the Evo for instance cost around 140 quid and will frequently break if it suffers even a gentle drop.

Piaggios have automatic transmissions which means having passed her test, she will forever be restricted to an automatic without having to re train and re-test.

Much better to hire a little manual bike and get the X9 after that.

If she's never ridden before then do the CBT on the school's bike.  Better to drop someone else's!  However I personally think the X9 125 is ideal for learners and for doing the A2 (restricted auto) test.
