Hello

After increased in medication and trouble getting on and off bike, i ended up with a Mobility car, and then i saw a X9 500 TRIKE an older guy was selling, i decided to get it alway from wales in hopes it will getting me back out biking with out worry's of drooping a bike.

Its not as fun as a leaning bike, but its nice and relaxed, gets lots of funny looks at bike meets or bike areas, its a bolt on Kit, i have recently taken the Bolt off to fix the dreaded petrol in oil, but after a oil and filter change and thermostat change i think i rescued it, no more petrol smell.

Going to get it out once winter is over. Still got my X9250SL Yellow iam known for round these parts, and the 250sl in the picture over came with the X9500 trike so thats just sat there until someone wants it as no good to me.

Its served its job and helps me keep biking with is a good thing. Trikes are not my thing but i cant moan, its out on the trike or stuck in the car .

Hope all is well

You say 'bolt on kit' so that means the original rear wheel remains in situ. That makes it a 4 wheeled vehicle. You might get plod sniffing around it if they see it! Altho if the PO was using it, who knows...

Lack of a reverse gear might find you stuck facing a kerb on a steeply cambered road.

Same as if you had a sidecar outfit. The answer is, don't get into that situation.

I have got stuck where i had to push it back, first time round with DVLA it was sent back classed as a Car, then Classed as a quadricycle, i have given up and removed the Bolt on Kit, at mo its just a Normal X9500. I plan putting it back on when i can stop dealing with idiots at DVLa that class it as a car, when classed as a car ( 4 wheels ) they needed a class 4 MOT with Seat belts ..... Dont think smart people work at DVLA

I plan on re-doing the photos redo the weight bridge print off and try again and hopefully get 3rd time lucky. In the first 2 trys they can see the rear wheel, i been told by a few trike club users, to make sure they dont see the original back wheel, and they will class it as a trike and not quadricycle, technically the extra 2 wheels are just big stabilizers.

I was fun at biker meets on it, no one has seen a scooter as a trike, and been the 500 X9 and goes realy well with kit on, cornering is a bit scary and really using's my arm mucels on corners.

Since kit been off i have had petrol in oil thing, but i have done a complete oil flush and change and sorted temp switch out that was giving the ECU wrong readings, and its now warms up to half, and saved the engine. since the kit been off i have not been on it in 2 months.

My  yellow 250SL i have aloud the MOT to expire and keeping it in the my garage to preserves it as one day no one will know what an X9 is . putting 250 yellow panels on my x9500
