to all x9'ers , actually i would like to improve my x9 180 top end. not much really. an increase of 10 - 15 km/h. my weight is 70kg. my current top end is approx 135 km/h. pls advise if the following configuration could make my stock x9 able to achieve around 140 - 145 km/h.

1. replace stock contrast spring with malossi white contrast spring 10% stiffer that stock
2. replace stock auto-clutch spring with malossi white auto clutch spring
3. replace stock roller weight 10.7g with malossi 11g
4. replace stock cdi unit with malossi digitronic that's eliminate rpm limiter

tq in advance........

1,2 & 3 won't increase top speed as that is fixed by gearing and max RPM.

Is the leader rev limited? I didn't think it was, just that it ran out of steam.

Higher gearing in the final drive would help but also take a little off acceleration, but doing 1,2 & 3 would put this back again.

thanks Dave for your advise. for your info, my friend's amalfi 180 recently change the final gearing. however, it low end torque suffers terribly. i came out with 2 configurations.

configuration 1

1. white contrast spring 10%
2. 11g malossi roller weight
3. malossi auto clutch spring
4. final gearing

configuration 2

1. white contrast spring 10%
2. 11g malossi roller weight
3. malossi auto clutch spring
4. malossi performance cam
5. malossi performance valve kit

configuration 3

1. white contrast spring 10%
2. 11g malossi roller weight
3. malossi auto clutch spring
4. polini's 220 cc engine block

which one of the above configurations can increase my top end around 10-15km/h ? by the way, sorry to trouble u with all these questions. the main reason is that i dont want to spend my hard earned money on R&D. i just wanna get it right in the first attempt.

It'd be cheaper just to buy a larger-engined X9, surely?

Raising the gearing is the only thing that will do it. Making a compensation for loss of low speed acceleration is all you can do to counter the effects on take off.
I would have thought lowering not increasing the roller weight to 8 or 9g was preferable as this lifts the revs on take off.
Increasing the clutch springs would do the same but it also increases the speed at which it disengages too, which can leave you coasting round corners all the time. I wouldn't do this.
Lifting the revs to compensate for the higher gearing on take off should restore the low speed acceleration and as the gear ratio rises it will top out at the same revs but higher wheel rotation speed.
Increasing the contra spring rate should keep the gearing from rising too fast mid-speed but all of this is a bit trial and error. Even the tuning experts tend to experiment before hitting on the right combination.

thanks guys, you're da best

i'll carry out the following configuration -

1. replace the stock gearing with malossi final gearing kit.
2. replace the stock roller weight 10.7g with malossi 9.5g roller weight.

the rest remain unchanged.
