Title: Re: My New Piaggio X9 ( soon ) Post by: jimc on September 03, 2009, 00:58:57 The shuddering could be rollers, belt or clutch.

Title: Re: My New Piaggio X9 ( soon ) Post by: X9-125-Evo on September 03, 2009, 07:08:27 The test center charges soooo much for using there own bike, and work is so hard with no bike using the bus all time, and i miss it, so iv got monye so iam getting another one.

Title: Re: My New Piaggio X9 ( soon ) Post by: Dave Milnes on September 03, 2009, 11:39:34 Check the obvious like bulbs and the connector to the lamp, but if the bike starts there must be power through the handle switches it tends to point to a blown fuse in the digidash where the power passes through for the blown bulb warning.
Bridge the pins like you did on the old bike. Photo in the gallery if you remember. Shuddering could be wheel balance on the rear wheel. Title: Re: My New Piaggio X9 ( soon ) Post by: smurph on September 03, 2009, 11:50:20 yes , if it needs a new rear tyre , that could be the fault, also get a rear back light bulb asap , very naughty they didn't replace it...IMO Title: Re: My New Piaggio X9 ( soon ) Post by: julian on September 03, 2009, 13:20:02 The brake light may just need pluggin in - it has five bulbs so they rarely all go at once.

I resoldered direct to the PCB and removed the plastic connector gubbins and fitted a longer cable so it was easier to access the battery.
Title: Re: My New Piaggio X9 ( soon ) Post by: X9-125-Evo on September 04, 2009, 12:15:47 Yes JJ thats the one i was going to buy the otherday, mate never picked me up so was going to go today but the guy texted me to say he been offered £700 over that of my £650 so i tunred it down, but the guy with the £700 never tunred up so it could be mine again for £650.
Title: Re: My New Piaggio X9 ( soon ) Post by: JJ on September 04, 2009, 12:57:19 It's currently at £560 but says that it's reserve hasn't been met yet.
It has a buy it now price of £800, so I'd suspect that the his reserve is somewhere between £700 and the £ 800. 9 hours to go. JJ Title: Re: My New Piaggio X9 ( soon ) Post by: spannerman on September 04, 2009, 14:36:19 Best of luck, it looks to me a very good buy, the top box is Rickman, I think they still make it (I've got one ready to fit to a Bantam), the panniers have what looks like a Rickman badge on them, although they are more rounded than any I've seen.
Hope you get it, Regards Dave Title: Re: My New Piaggio X9 ( soon ) Post by: X9-125-Evo on September 04, 2009, 17:12:50 Well the seller said i could take it away for £650, but my mate cant take me down. Some one offered him £700 so iam going to let it go. With the Brake lights and the shuddering iam not interested at £800.
Title: Re: My New Piaggio X9 ( soon ) Post by: Dave Milnes on September 04, 2009, 18:00:29 Why didn't you offer to pay a paypal deposit of say £100 to show good faith and would pick it up and pay the balance when your mate could take you for it?
Title: Re: My New Piaggio X9 ( soon ) Post by: X9-125-Evo on September 04, 2009, 21:03:04 Offer a pay-pal deposit ..... i never thought of that .

Personally,i would leave it,my gut feeling is it'll be more trouble than its worth unless you are a confident mechanic. It finished at £550.00 reserve not met. Steve wise words Title: Re: My New Piaggio X9 ( soon ) Post by: jimc on September 05, 2009, 19:55:32 Probably far too far away for you, but I do know that CBS Whitton have a decent condition X9 125 Evo for which they'll probably not want more than GBP800. So good buys from reputable suppliers are out there.
