We finale sold my X9 125 evo for £1000, so been a biker with no bike at mo is hard times :lol:, anyone got any recommendations as to what bike/scooter i should get next.

Depends IF you've passed your test yet...

booking it with the £1000 iv got , not buying another bike till test is passed.

Can I ask a question ? :) What is the price of a Piaggio X9 250 Evolution in your country? I ask for secondhand bike ;)

In Turkey we sell x9 250 evolution about £3000. Because we buy very expensive. There are too many assessment for anything you buy.

Why buy another 125 if you are going to pass your test?
The results of the test determine what you will be able, let alone want, to buy.

If you stick with 125 then get a Yam X-max for ultimate reliability
If you pass then a 250 Xevo or a MP3 maybe until your restriction ends.

No no 125s i want summet bigger.

Its need to be still in production / can do good as a get to work and back / good long distance.

Love the X9 500 Evo 2007 but its out of production.

Love the burgman 650 but as a bike to get to work on and the now and again long blast trips, i dont think 650 burgy will fit the bill.

Thought of a piaggio X9250 evo still out of production but....... very good engine as i hear.
other thought is :

SYM RV-250

Best bet is a 400, as it falls inside your restricted limit yet falls little behind a 500 in performance.
A 400 Majesty would be ideal or a 300 Nexus.

Or a 400 Xevo    :D

But best to wait till you've passed, then test ride as each has it's own feel/style so research and other's recommendations can only get you so far.

Ride them where? Finding a demo bike is almost impossible.

I know it's never easy, especially if he'll have just passed the test, but it is the only way to make a worthwhile decision. 

I test rode an X9 250, MP3 250, Fuoco and X8 before deciding last time - although now JTs sold up and moved on I'm not so sure I'd be able to do that again!

The point is other's opinions whilst valuable are just that, only you can know what you enjoy riding.  So by all means arm yourself with valuable owners views but you really should ride before you buy.

curious to know why you need something that's still in production....??? unless you're going for nearly new (in which case £1000 isn't likely to be enough).  Besides the engine of the 250 is still in production in the Xevo 250.

Considered an X7? or an X-Max or the Sym equivalent?? (think the all use the same body shell)

Fuoco   i like the look of that......but i don't think its with in the 33bhp licence limit is it ? or can you have it restriced

the bike shop near me Have a Piaggio X9 500 silver with evo screen but standard mirrors, with topbox, been stood for years as its a project, but its all done up and finished, its there in back of the work shop and i asked them for a price and i said i had £1000 and they said come in when u got your full licence and we will work something out.

Oh its got P.I.C.S but the only thing wrong with it, is the eletric stand dont work.

Incidentally, the screens on the sl and Evos are the same.

The centre stand on the sl has no facility for manual (foot) operation so you'd have to live with just the side-stand although you could probably buy a stand from a breaker's.

Looks like you've got a really good deal going on an X9 500.  

Out of interest the issue of restricting a Fuoco is a complex subject, the requirement to have no more than 33bhp at the rear wheel (restricted) does seem to be shrouded in mystery as the claim is that the Fuoco doesn't make this despite brochure listing on engine output.  See post here - http://www.maxi-muppets.co.uk/phpBBInt/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1672&hilit=restricted&start=20

However cost would be prohibitive and suggest you stick to the X9 (or I'll get shot by the Forum mods!)

Nah, we've given up shooting members it is too difficult getting rid of the bodies these days - nobody eats meat pies any more.

stay with your 125 until you,ve passed your test get your miles under your belt then ponder and take your time to choose as then you will able to  test ride the bikes you like the look of do not be ashed of a 125 everybody has to start somewhere,
i went on the Stamford ride today and had no problems.

125 is sold   tho    and i have 1000s of miles under my little belt, think iam ready to move on

MP3 400 LT - you do have a car license?

 get your license first , there's loads of 250/400 cc to choose from     

I think he's already sold his bike, but may have missed the point that a 125 can be ridden after his full test has been passed, If he buys something bigger now he can't ride it until he's passed!  why give up the opportunity to ride everyday???

That's the way I'm doing it, as I intend to take my test on the X9 and then go shopping once I've passed.  Run with something under 33bhp for my 2 years and then move up again!

No i had to sell it i needed the cash with the Hrs been cut at work.
