Try a new spark plug, it isn't unknown for the odd faulty one to get fitted, even slightly clumsy fitting can often damage them too. Not expensive and DIY as well and a faulty plug is not something the diagnostic test would pick up on.

Well so far Thor seems to be ok

I have noticed however that someone at Bikers has taken him up to 84 mph, my highest was 74

I am hoping that Alan was right in saying that just taking it apart and putting it back together has helped

Thanks to everyone for their kind words and technical imput, will keep you posted

Well here I am again folks

The bike is still not good and seems to be getting worse

The bike is now miss firing quite a bit. It seems to happen when I slow down i.e for roundabouts, junctions etc. I can't rev the bike when this happens because there is no power, I know now that the only way to stop it is to stop, it then cuts out, I start it again and the problem is solved.....till the next time it happens. It was stripped down once before and they couldn't find anything wrong with it, it went in for a sevice the day before I went up to the Ace on Killspills day (it happened to me twice on that day)

I am at my wits end and really worried that it might happen in a dangerous situation.

As Freddy would say "im going slightly mad"

Oh, I hate that feeling. It's horrible when you're riding along just waiting for something to go wrong again. Poor you - wish there was something I could suggest.

Hi JP, don't know if it will be this Saturday, depends if I can book it up.  Mind you the Saturday that I do manage to book up Dave is on about going to the Ace for brekkie while the bike is being looked at so as I am bikeless I will need someone to give me a lift, I know you aren't partial to pillions so I am hoping someone might be able to give me a lift

Will stump up for brekkie of course, and for Dave and Son as they are leading me up there

Hi JT, I have booked with you but I dont think the bike is going to last that long, 7 times it cut out today, some of the roads were a bit dangerous

I have the miss firing alot now when I slow down, but can release the throttle and pick the speed up, with a jolt. It is so loud that the people look at me and I get kinda embarresed

I am too afraid to bring it long distance, and too afraid that it wont last. Would Kev in Bikers be up for contacting you?

I hope so

Having to walk Lucy to and from school is a nightmare

Can some local X9 club members provide some aid?  Poor Thor (and Julie and Lucy) need some outside help here.
