Middlesex doesn't in fact exist as a county anymore. I don't know when it was changed but now, the county of Middlesex is included in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
The only map I've ever found displaying the area that was Middlesex dates back to the early 1900's.
Effectively, they termed the collective counties north of the River as Middlesex Counties and those south of the river as Surrey Counties.
May be wrong but that's what my research delivered.

1963, Lawrence. It became part of Greater London and was divided up. Finchley and Golders Green were lumped together with Barnet to form the Borough of Barnet. Curiously, Barnet still retains 'Hertfordshire' in its addresses in the same way that Enfield and Uxbridge are still 'in' Middlesex, although they are also part of London Boroughs. Middlesex was a county in its own right - it was 'The Land of the Middle Saxons' as Essex was 'The Land of the East Saxons' and so on with Wessex and Sussex. There were no North Saxons; someone else lived there. |

I have just insured my new bike for the total cost of $10,999 with a fully comprehensive "business" policy as I use the bike for work @ a cost of $257.73pa,
I was surprised that Swan Insurance were more than $110 cheaper than everyone else and when speaking to as many people I know that have bikes nearly all use Swan and are happy with them, I had been using Shannon here in Australia, but was put off when they kept sending me out my policy marked for private use only when I kept telling them it was for business and was then told not to worry as they would cover that as well..
Yeah I bet they would until some thing goes wrong.. Funny enough another insurance company rep said the same thing .. so no deal with me...
I was ondering who Jay, Wiz and Jbee use here in Australia?
ps: And also Swan had the lowerest excess of $300 everyone else varied from $450 to $800.. they also include after an accident to get, You, home and Your bike to a dealer... up to $750

This also allows you to ride other bikes, although with the minimum legal insurance (TPO) I presume... |
