Lexhams (Piaggio insurance) are big believers in Self-insurability'
I am too!
'Self insurability' is where you pay a more modest premium in return for choosing a larger theft excess, and then making bloody well sure you take every practical step towards preventing theft from happening.
This would include a quality lock, attached to an immovable object, an immobiliser, maybe even alarm, and Datatagging or similar.
One would also be very careful where one left ones bike during night or day.
Generally, this works well in rural low theft areas, but not great on a high risk machine (Runner 180 for example!) in scummy areas, or within five miles of a Pikey settlement.
The X9 is a low theft bike, and a bit of common sense should ensure no problems with this idea.

OK Guys, I've seen it - thanks.
And thanks for the kind words. I don't think I deserve this level of praise just fot mentioning them. Carole Nash are hardly my personal secret, they're the biggest (by far) bike insurer in the UK.

The biggest doesn`t mean the best, as size isn`t everything. Insurance companies i mean, not the other.
