I'm in the process of doing a bit of refurb on the X9, new brake discs and pads all round and a bleed with fresh fluid, and generally a good clean, although since last done due to Covid it's hardly been used.
I spotted that the heat shield from the back of the fuel tank has gone awol, and sod's law, I binned my spare tank before moving house as I hadn't needed it and probably never would...or so I thought.
Looking on Ebay found nothing other than to buy another tank and most seemed to have the shield missing anyway so I tried Easyparts who I haven't used since 2016 and they are still there and have a good few X9 parts still in stock including the heat shield so I ordered one. No idea of the price, it was in some Euoshite currency but didn't seem too bad.
A few parts are now obsolete, ECU, both front calipers, seat tubs, some body panels, main frame, rear pulley, throttle body, digidash all of which you can get easily used off Ebay. Should get a few more years out of it yet.
MOT on 22nd so time to finish it off and the tester will never see the missing shield if it doesn't arrive in time and the garage is only 100yds away. Now to sort out insurance

They have parts for the the new Beverly 400, I forgot about them, no surprise as I forget most things these days.
Hopefully we will be travelling around more soon, my first away weekend is with the NC700 forum group, I've always wanted to visit the site of the biggest balls up of a military training exercise at Slapton sands, it was classified during WW2.

Did it need to be the specific heat shield? It would appear to be just heat resistant wadding with a foil jacket, I would have thought you could bye generic and cut to shape? Easyparts seem to have a huge amount of X9 parts still available if compared to Fowlers these days.

Yes probably is nothing special Bob, I have some tin plate I could cut if necessary. It should be here tomorrow according to tracking but if not I will make something.
