Hello everybody.  Need some help please. 2003 x9 200evo 2003 80000km
. Ages ago my bike stopped charging my battery.  I changed the regulator but no joy.  So  I thought it must be the stator. My garage wanted  250e for the job. So in the meantime iv been running about with  2 batteries changing them over a lot. Anyway after 6 months of that it's charging agagain. 🤔 Iv not done anything 🤷‍♂️. Fixed happy days but I need to find out how it fixed itself.
Is there a relay that might be loose? That's the only thing I can think of. I dropped the bike the other day and it seems fine since. 😬 What do you think? Thanks in advance Paul 🇪🇸

Italian electrical connections; something obviously had a poor/corroded connection and that has been jolted back with the drop.

Check the connection where the three stator outputs connect to the regulator input, sometimes these burn. On the 500 it's clipped to the engine mounting arm, not sure on a 250. There will also be a connector on the regulator output into the bikes loom. Again not sure where this is on a 250. LH side just under the grab handle on a 500.
I doubt it can be an actual electrical failure as a jolt wouldn't fix that but it would a bad connection.
