It's mid May not mid Winter, just get the right gear on and get out there. I was out on the Forza today in West Yorkshire and it rained at least half the time, I still enjoyed the ride.

question why are nearly all bikers/ scooter riders old
My guess is that all the youngsters are posting 15 sec videos of their Speedfights and NRGs on Tik Tok : :

The young ones do not have the disposable income to spend on motorbikes and scooters. Yours may be the same sort of situation but the only reason I started riding bikes at all was for cheap transport, cheaper than the train anyway, I had no interest in bikes otherwise, I had been trying to pass a car test. This would be 1975. There were lots of youths (and some gals) tootling about on small bikes with just a provisional and L-plates, it was much cheaper and easier than trying to get a car. For most of us on the bottom rungs of the wages ladder at that time a car was just unatainable. Nowadays the CBT etc. are a massive hurdle and the courses are hugely expensive! So it's probably cheaper and easier to go for a car licence now. But then there's the insurance, stupid amounts of money for young riders and drivers.
