After developing a squeak from the rear suspension and noticing that my rear wheel could be moved from side to side, I decided to overhaul the swingarm.
I looked underneath and decided that the best option would be to jack the scoot up by the centre stand and support the frame with axle stands just in front of the swingarm assembly. I then positioned the trolley jack under the engine to take the weight and was able to unbolt the whole swingarm mechanism and remove it in one piece, after unbolting the exhaust downpipe and removing the centrestand to make life easier!
Once on the bench I tipped out the brown dust and bits of metal that were the remains of the original bearings, drifted them out and replaced with copiously greased new bearings.
Then it was fairly straightforward to refit the swingarm, bolt everything up nice and tight, and get the scoot back onto its wheels.
