Hi, I have a problem, to me it seems like fuel starvation, scooter starts and runs fine for a few miles, then it stops, and wont start. After a few minutes it will start and all is fine for about half a mile, then it does it again. I need to check the fuel filter, can anyone tell me the location of it to save me stripping everything down until i find it? Many Thanks

Fuel injection motors have the filter as part of the fuel pump submerged into the tank. The X8 has a history of failing fuel pumps, so check this out. No need to buy an OEM pump for £000's there is a cheap £30 identical item sold on Ebay. There is a topic or two on here about them from maybe a year ago. Search from the home page.

http://www.x9ownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=24423.msg269015#msg269015 try reading through this lot. It's X7 based but probably the same pump. Polecat is the expert on this problem.

Why didn't you say so? The 125 uses a vacuum operated pump located down the side of the tank. If it seems to be failing to keep up with demand then check out the pipe to the inlet manifold that supplies the vacuum. There is also a little round mesh on the pump that has to be clean too to allow the vacuum to form. There is no separate in-line filter in the parts manual, unless a previous owner has fitted one.

Thanks, Sorry forgot to say its a 125, anyway I found the fuel pump, non return valve and an in line filter, just where you said. think there must have been a blockage somewhere, gave the fuel pipe a good blow and all seems to be OK now ( just been for a 15km spin and no problems), anyway Thanks again for your help.

Fuel pipes deteriorate with age and the ethanol in modern fuel. If it happens again replace them.
