I have the chance of a top box off an Evo 125....will this fit my Evo 500 ?

I am pretty sure the topbox fits all the x9 range - 125 to 500 and the Evo range. You will need the genuine rack as well (or at least fitting it will be simpler with the original rack)

thanks for that, will go get it today, he also has a good seat any ideas if the seat from a 125 will fit my 500?

Careful Paul where you post things. You have an X9 Evo, this forum is for the Xevo which is a different bike completely. Xevo's are more like the X7 or X8 than the X9. The X10 is totally different again.

To answer your question any body or trim part from an X9 will fit any other X9 whether it be from a 125, 250 or 500 they are all identical in plastics and any accessory such as racks and boxes are common as is the seat. Mechanically there are differences but even then there are a lot of common parts and electrically is where the biggest differences are. But even there switches, relays and lights are common. The only X9 which is slightly odd is the older 250SL with the Honda engine, the very first X9. This is best avoided for anything other than bodywork parts unless you know what you are doing, as some parts will fit, but won't work.

OOPS, sorry Dave, I thought this bit was for my bike   will re-post in the proper place....thanks for the info too !
