Hi, can any one give me some ideas.
My Piaggio x8 125 keeps blowing the 15 amp fuse it sparks and blows every time I try and put one in, the fuse is for the recharge of the battery, lights etc. the ignition don't even turn on, I have checked the earth and its clean and splits in the wire and checked the loom as far as I can and it all seems in tact no exposed wires. Any one got any ideas?

Assuming you have the battery polarity correct...
Disconnect the regulator output and see if that cures it, in which case the regulator is dud.
As it's a fuse that protects circuits permanently live when the battery is connected and not one that requires a circuit to be switched on first, it has to be something to do with the input/output directly from the battery.

Thanks Dave, I unplugged the regulator and put the fuse in it went in ok without a blowing I plugged the connectors back into the regulator and the ignition and lights came on and it turns over but don't start, I also have a spare regulator (only reason is spare as I thought I had a regulator problem last year) which I plugged the connectors into that too, but it still don't start and still turns over.

Check the other fuses as one may also have blown.

Must be fuel related then.

I have taken the fuel pipe off the carb, and turned the bike over an petrol comes out the pipe, so then I checked the diaphragm and that seems fine and all in good nick.
where would be the next best place to look with out taking the carb off?

Basics, take plug out after trying to start it, see if it's 'wet', i.e. has petrol on it ~ if yes, then it's not sparking altho plug may do so outside of the engine, either duff plug or HT or coil insulation problem. Could also be timing problem but wouldn't have thought so in this day and age of electronic ignition etc. ~ if plug is not wet, then petrol is still not getting thru for some reason, maybe carb strip-down req.d
