Hi
Just fitted and am very pleased.
I was always leaving my indicators on.
I have also wired in to the front brake so that we I am stopped at traffic lights etc I can hold the brake on which then stops the buzzer.
I bought online for £9 already made up and so easy to fit. I buzzer and 3 wires.

I presume it's the black wire that's connected to your brake light(s)?

What happens when you turn hazards on?

What's it like loudness wise; as I doubt my ability to hear such a gizmo what with wind noise and so on, during a ride out yesterday I tried the horn, could only just hear it!

You woudn't hear it at speed on the motorway but around town its perfect.
It is also possible to buy different buzzers that are louder.
I was looking in Maplins at the different sorts which were all just a couple of quid

That's what I was looking at.

"I have a cunning plan, my lord"

... to use one

to use one with a bridge rectifier (4 diodes), that way can be connected between left and right indicator lamps so only squeaks if one side is not on. Dunno yet how to do the brake disable bit tho... looks like a job for a relay or a transistor...

I've found that the bleeping while stationary sat at junctions is actually quite useful as it seems to attract the attention of cyclists, car drivers and pedestrians to take notice of you. Bleeping on the hazards isn't a problem as I don't use them.
I used a simple peizo bleeper and 2 diodes and connected it to the unused alarm socket which has a feed into each side indicator and a ground wire. I strapped it to the upper subframe with a tyrap. Total cost less than £5 and it works on both sides.

You might have a point there actually! Experimentation in order perhaps...

I just fitted small bleepers inside each of the Evo mirrors and wired them in at the bulb connection. I then glued the bleeper to the inside of the mirror casing. I fully agree with Dave that they are most useful at traffic lights to warn cyclists etc that you are turning.

The first set I did back in 2002 on my 250SL I added them to the front fairing indicators, one each side simply glued to the lamp body and tinned the wires onto the bulb holder contacts.
The first set I did on my 500Evo was like you, inside the mirror bases spliced into the connectors but then when I added repeater LEDS and extra white LEDS into the indicators the mirrors became quite a spaghetti of wires so moved to the single bleeper and diodes I described above. This also means that if you do use the hazards there is still only the one bleeper, not two sounding off. Even if you buy two identical ones, they can vary by a semitone so sound quite annoying when both going off.
