Hello

Filled up with 10lt of petrol and went to Scarborough & back, covered 137 miles and on reserve coming in to Leeds, worked out that 137 miles on 10lt is 62mpg ? that's bad right ?

The tank holds more than 10 litres doesn't it?
The only accurate way to measure is to brim the tank, do a days riding and then brim it again so you can accurately tell what you have used, then do the maths bases on that amount and recorded trip mileage.
Guessing the level is back to where it started is usually way off.
The gauge and low fuel light systems are so variable as to be only suitable as a very rough guide.
