Hello
My X8 has now done 16,777Miles, dials are in KM on the X8 so reads 26,000KM i hope anyways other wise my Factory belt has done over 20K on belt.
Anyway the guy i got it off kept a service record, and from factory its never had a belt change or its the factory one, the belt is at 16,777Miles now and i toke it off to check it and looks in good nick, today i have brought a back up belt ready for when it snaps......
What millage do people think it will get up to before snapping ?

18,000Km is the handbook replacement schedule interval or every 3 years. OEM belts if not abused should last, based on my experience with 500 belts, easily up to 50% longer without danger of breakage. It is always possible that the belt was not recorded in the service book as an individual item, but itemised on the invoice only. The 24,000Km service would have been the next one it was checked at if at 18,000Km it was considered safe to leave it a bit longer. For peace of mind, I would change it sometime before Winter sets in so you don't have a breakdown in bad weather. I always make sure my bikes will get through the winter without maintenance, then give them a thorough going over pre-MOT around Easter ready for Summer.

I got the bike at 14,000KM and the guy went over everything, he told me everything he did he noted in the book, so i am confidence when i got the bike at 14,000miles its never had a belt change from factory as i brought the X8 well before it was due one. So every 18000KM then Dave ? mine is at 26,000km so its doing well. I for my replacement undrr my seat ready for when it snap's ill let AA fit it at side of road

Yes I wouldn't bank on the AA fitting it for you. They will probably trailer you to the nearest dealer for such things and then you'll end up paying labour.
