Hi all,not been posting on here for my for a while due to my X8 being SORN.Have finally got round to putting it back on the road.I've checked it over for MOT and all seems well except for some pitting on the front forks(near the top of forks).Question is,Will this fail MOT?
Thanks very much.

Simple answer is no, unless there is damage to the seals.

If it's just a slight leak from the seal wipe it over with a cloth before leaving it6 for the MOT

Use some scotchbrite to gently rub it over or a similar scouring pad .

...then smear a light coat of grease over the whole chrome part and let the seal wipe off just the amount of travel. The tester will not actually touch the fork and the grease will protect the chrome from pitting again. If left and the pits spread lower down it might affect the seals eventually but if you keep polishing them off and grease the stem they will not get significantly worse or pose a problem.
