At the February 2015 National Committee meeting of the National Association for Bikers with a Disability (NABD), grants totalling £3,845.00 were awarded to help six more disabled riders to adapt bikes and/or trikes to suit their needs.

That’s a grand total of £55,599.93 awarded in grants so far, since the start of this financial year in April 2014.

THE YOU’VE BEEN NABBED 24 RALLY
8th – 10th May 2015

The National Association for Bikers with a Disability (NABD) invite you to their premier annual fundraising event. The best value-for-money biker’s event in the UK!

The YBN24 rally will feature; twenty-six live bands on three stages, ‘100% Biker’ bike & trike show, a huge stand-up comedy show, 60+ real ales and ciders and a wide range of canned beers, wines and spirits, loads of trade stalls, three discos, children’s entertainment, accessible facilities, hot showers, and the very best company you could wish for!

Pre-booked tickets £25.00 (before 2nd May 2015). On the gate £30.00

Accompanied children 14-years or under – free admission
• Car parking £20.00 (free with disabled badge). Caravans £20.00
• Strictly no dogs (except registered & insured disability assistance dogs)
• No alcohol will be permitted through the gate; we have three bars selling a wide range of beers, wines, and spirits, at very reasonable prices
• Day tickets (Saturday only) £15.00 (Pay £30.00 with a £15.00 refund if you leave before 7:00pm)
You don't have to be an NABD member or a disabled biker to attend this superb event!

Cheques should be made out to ‘NABD’ and sent with an A5 stamped, self-addressed, envelope to:
NABD
Unit 20, The Bridgewater Centre
Robson Avenue, Urmston
Manchester
M41 7TE

Credit/Debit card payments can be made via: Tel: 0844 415 4849 or the on-line shop at www.nabd.org.uk
Updates will be posted on the website and at http://www.facebook.com/groups/8633626241/

Don’t forget your towel:
Hot showers will be available at the You’ve Been Nabbed 24 rally.

Cars at You've Been Nabbed 24:
We have removed our restrictions on people attending by car in a bid to stop people parking illegally in the local area and walking into the event. Police are likely to be clamping-down on illegal parking in the area this year due to complaints.

Sponsor a Barrel of Ale at You’ve Been Nabbed 24:
For a mere £75.00 sponsors can have their name, (or company name, club name, logo etc.) on a barrel of real ale or cider throughout the event.

Sponsors will also be included in the official sponsors list and receive a laminated ‘Certificate of Sponsorship’ from the NABD.

If you are in a club, why not propose to your fellow members that they sponsor a barrel?

If you are self-employed and you pay tax, why not sponsor a barrel yourself? Promotional expenses and charitable donations can all be written off against tax.
If you work for a company, why not talk to your boss about it? It’s very good publicity and it has to feel better than handing your money over to the Tax Man!

For more information, e-mail office@thenabd.org.uk or telephone 0844 415 4849 and we will let you have a simple form to fill in.

NABDONIA RALLY 2015: (3rd – 5th July) Swallow Falls, Betws y Coed, North Wales.
Following the success of last few years Nabdonia Rallies at the Swallow Falls Hotel we will be using the same venue again. Many people enjoy the event having a somewhat different pace than our other rallies and I know a lot of people also enjoy having the option of YHA rooms and hotel rooms as well as camping. These options will all feature in the event again this year.

This event has a strict 250-ticket limit and I would certainly advise you to book your accommodation early if you want to go in the hotel or the YHA. People are also welcome to attend in campervans but they must arrange to pay for weekend parking with the hotel. All accommodation and/or camping is arranged with and paid directly to the Swallow Falls Hotel, Tel: 01690 710796 www.swallowfallshotel.co.uk

Tickets for the rally entertainment throughout the weekend are just £10.00 and they are available from the NABD office on 0844 415 4849 or via the website shop www.nabd.org.uk

Nabdonia is a lovely laid-back event, in a beautiful part of Britain, featuring live music, stand-up comedy, Daja Vu disco and buckets-full of camaraderie. If have been before, we would love to have you back. If you haven’t tried it yet, you really should!

AUTUMN NABD’NESS RALLY 2015: (11th – 13th September) CANCELLED
It is with great regret that the Autumn Nabd’ness Rally 2015 has been cancelled. Due to an unacceptable breakdown in the servicing of the toilets at the 2014 event, we no longer have any faith in the toilet supplier and as the supplier also happens to be the site owner, we have had no alternative but to move the event to an alternative site.

As finding a new site, reaching an amicable agreement with the owner, applying for a new licence for the event, and many other considerations, involve a lot of time and effort; the NABD committee have reluctantly agreed to postpone the next Autumn Nabd’ness rally until September 2016 to allow us to once again put on an event of the highest quality.

On behalf of the Trustees of the NABD I offer our apologies to anybody who has been inconvenienced by this unavoidable decision.

SHITESHAGS MCC DONATION
Geordie party animals and long-standing NABD supporters, Shiteshags MCC have once again earned our gratitude and admiration with a magnificent donation of £2,038.00 from the proceeds of their annual “The Little Tiddler Charity Malarkey” rally, held in September 2014 at Chopwell Gliding Club just outside Newcastle upon Tyne.

It is due to the continued support of such wonderful clubs that the NABD has been able to help more than ten thousand disabled people to enjoy the freedom of independent motorcycling.

As was the case with all of their previous donations, every penny of this £2,038.00 donation will go directly into the NABD adaption grant fund, to help even more disabled people to put the joy and freedom back into their lives.

Many more donations of less than £200.00 have been received in that period and every one of them is greatly valued.

Every donation received by the NABD goes directly into the NABD Adaption Grant fund (unless specified for a different purpose such as learner/loaners or event sponsorship by the donor).
