Hi Guys. I've recently changed the back tyre on Xevo 400ie. I had city grip on it before and found them to be a great tyre in all weather. Now I have Conti-twist on the bike and I've done about 4000kms on it. It was ok in the dry but in the wet when turning corners it has very bad grip. I can feel the back kicking out. Just wondered if any one else has used these tyre and what you think about them. Im thinking of putting city grip back on and keeping the Conti-twist for the summer time.

Its amazing the difference a tyre can make. I had city grips on my X10 350, they were great. Imported the X10 500 which had SAVA tyres fitted great in the dry deadly in the wet so I changed them for the Power Pure SC's thinking I would get the best of both worlds, not so again great in the dry but a bit squirrely in the wet, something you do not need. I am going to persist with them but I will certainly go back to the city grips.

I have the Powerpure on both my X9's and they are fine in all conditions, so clearly very bike sensitive.

I've used the Contis and broadly I agree. I've not found a better tyre than the Michelin on wet tarmac. For me the worst aspect of the Conti was the deterioration in handling once they were more than half worn ( wriggling over white lines and overbanding).
Given that they are often the cheapest option by a long way its a tricky decision for a commuter.

The lad working in the bike shop told me they were better than city grip that was the only reason I got i Buy from now on I'll be sticking with city grip. I've found them the best on wet and dry road even when worn down

By choice I would always go for either Pirelli GTS or Diablo but out of necessity I ended up with the Michelins. Given deep pockets I would fit Battlax radials but at nearly twice the price and lasting only a similar mileage, they aren't on my shortlist any more. I tried them once and they were fantastic.

Are tyres model specific as I'm about to buy a pair of Michelin City grips for my X8 ? Cheapest I've found is £71 for the pair delivered. Didn't mean to hijack the thread. Gerry

Looked at diablo and battlax but they do not manufacture my rear tyre size 150/70 13" 64S. They do a 160/70 with a higher speed rating.
