I have set up a small database applet, accessed from the home web pages, in which you can enter your bikes registration number and a rough date when you purchased and sold it, if you don't still own it.

The idea is that anyone can search the list and find out if their bike, or one they are considering buying, is a known bike to anyone here. It may help in tracing the history, lost Master keys, handbooks and PICS headsets which often don't get included when a bike is sold or traded in. No harm in including any non Piaggios in this as well.
Please try to be accurate in entering your info, so double check before hitting the submit button as you are not permitted to delete or edit later.
There is a 1000 entry limit and a 500 access per day allowance, so it should be enough even with a few cocked up entries.

You can search the reg number and find the bought and sold history and the owners forum username. Any contact to the previous owners must be via the forum PM system, but anyone can opt not to be contacted by ticking a checkbox on the input form.
Please respect this when doing any research.

I'm older than I think!

Dave, I've tried to enter details of my X9s. The date fields say "approx", but one has to enter exact dates, in the right format. I also wanted to enter the fact that my 500 had been stolen, trashed and so written off! All pertinent information for a buyer.

Dates have to be in one of only a couple of options, or it would have to be a general input cell, then the search wouldn't index it, and people could enter any old rubbish.
Just enter a 1st of the month approximate date.
I have added a drop box to select for other misadventures.
