Two screws fastening the top of the beak on the Xevo to the front fairing dropped out last week leaving it held on by the two screws at the back and making a right racket.
I managed to scrounge two screws from our garage and tried to do it back up. One has since dropped out again and I can see that I've lost the two folded metal bits that clip round the plastic that the screws go into. What are these called and where can I get them? Also I'd need some more fairing screws (pref stainless steel) of the same size as Piaggio standard ones??

Brilliant thanks Mike. I tried to search but I used the wrong terms as "fairing fixings" are rubber bung things not what I was looking for at all. I could find screws but not the clip things.

It's a pleasure, Carmen. I expect you've guessed already - they come in different sizes so if it were me I'd take in the screw you have (presumably the correct size) and match it with the clips.

I have found it is not unusual for good Piaggio dealers to just hand regular customers a handful of assorted clips FoC on request.

Spire nuts or clips is the general term for them, but if you ask for self tapper clip nuts, everyone will know what you mean. The lost one will be in the belly pan probably, I found loads in the Nexus pan when I removed it. There's another one in again now!

They are so cheap in bulk that the now defunct Ewell Scooters once invited me through the counter to the trays of fittings in the ante-room of the workshop and told me to take what I wanted when I asked for a few.

Not everyone on Ebay is a rip off merchant, some are actually very good. Prices not too bad either as other suppliers like Screwfix add a handling charge and delivery which makes them relatively expensive. Another good place is an auto electrical place called SMAK.

I'm lucky - we have a screwfix counter in town, so no handling/postage charges, though sometimes they don't have it in stock and you need to pop back next day.
Useful site though - particularly as he does mixed bags.

I know I buy and sell on ebay a lot, but that was exceptionally quick shipping particularly as one of the items was supposed to be second class.
