hi guys i want to change my oils in my piaggio x8 2007 125cc. can anyone please tell me do i screw in the engine oil dip stick to take a reading or does it just sit in without screwing it in.

also the dip stick in the gearbox hub oil has quite a few level marks on it . can someone tell me what mark to go by also does this dip stick get screwed all the way in then take out for reading thanks guys in advance for any replies

The rear hub dip stick is a common part and each pair of marks is relevant to different models so you need to refer to your handbook for that information. Both measurements are taken fully screwed in, bike vertical on centre stand on a level surface.

It will be the same as the X9 125 listed as 150cc 80/90 gear oil. How that shows on the dipstick I don't know, but if you put in 150cc (150ml) you will be fine and then see where it falls on the stick. Take the nearest mark as being the full one.
