Hi guys. Just noticed that the 12 volt power socket on bike bike is starting to rust. Just wondered if anyone with an Xevo has had this same problem. I thought these sockets would have been waterproof. Is there anyway I can make this waterproof or would I be better off getting a new one. Thanks for any advice on this issue

Mine had some rust in it, spray some ACF50 down there. If your scoots still under warranty, would that be covered?

Don't worry they all rust, but still work OK. If all you are powering is a GPS or charging your phone it will still be fine. Mine has been rusty for years so when I plug anything in, I just give it a bit of a twist back and forth and it usually does the trick. If you silicone greased it, the plugs would get covered in it, and you and anything else they touched, so an aerosol spray such as ACF or WD40 is all you can do really.

Yep they're open to the elements at the back. I've noticed mine is starting to corrode a bit now. Still works though.

Im thinking of trying to get a bigger mud guard to stop all the mud and wet from spraying up. Is there a bigger mud guard available for the xevo or would a mudguard of a x9 fit

Do you mean front of back? You could easily make one from some thick rubber. I had a mudflap from a Vespa on the back of mine but it didnt stop the muck at all.

You couldn't fit both an X8/9 mudguard and retain the Xevo beak. If you took the beak off and fitted a proper mudguard it might look silly with such a high cutout over the wheel. A mudguard off an X8/9 probably will fit as long as the mounting lugs are all present on the fork legs and I doubt they removed them, just found another use for them on the Xevo. If you remove the fixed beak, what else is exposed higher up?

As far as I can see above the beak it's pretty much the same as the X8, there's nothing really different about the lights etc it's just the Xevo has a piece of plastic going down from the Vpanel across teh light to make it look like two seperate lights.
An X8 front mudguard would fit I'm sure.

Hmmm, I fancy an X8 mudguard as it does look nicer than the beak

Not sure it'd fix the original problem which is stuff kicking up onto the radiator though as it also doesn't go too far down at the back (from memory), but it would be easier to fit a vespa style mud flap too.

No but you could add a small mudflap to the lower edge. The beak does look a bit er,,, odd,

OK, the lugs are the same on the Xevo as the X8 so an X8 mudguard will fit as the inner guard on the Evo uses those lugs If only you could buy an X8 mudguard in the Evo colours!
