Hi guys. Having a problem with the boot lock on my xevo. It won't open with the remote on the key. I have to open it manual. Has anyone got a idea what the cause might be

Does the remote open the seat or not? If not then the battery may be dead - or perhaps just need jiggling a bit. Sometimes happened on my X8, I don't have a remote for my Xevo (they don't supply them with newer ones any more) so I don't have that problem any more!!

Doesn't the remote function go to sleep after a while of inactivity? If the bikes not been used for a few days or weeks maybe it's this?

Think it does actually, BarryG would know. I never realised that was the issue with the X8  I thought it was just a dodgy remote. However if you've turned the ignition on the remote should work again.

It was working yesterday and then today I tried to open the boot and it won't work. I even put a new battery in the remote in case it was dead and still nothing

Its supposed to go to sleep after 48 hours, then will work again if you insert the key, turn on ignition and then off and remove key! In practice mine goes to bed after around 24 hours.

Hmm, that's a pain. Dunno really, perhapsa  loose or bad connection from the battery in the remote? I found once with the X8 that if I jiggled the battery about it worked again?

Have you tried your second key?

I only have 1 key and the master key. I don't think the problem is with the key I think there might be a loose wire or something like that. I'll bring it back to the dealer and get him to sort it. Thanks
