X8 bulb replacement

A mate has just text me to ask how to change the headlight bulbs on his X8.  As I have owned an X9 and an Nexus, that doesn't actually qualify me on all issues X8.

Anyway, I have suggested that he visits this site and entertains himself looking at your many helpful topics, but I thought it would be nice to have kicked off a thread for him so that by the time he fires up his PC, he will find some answers (well, maybe )

So, please start any replies with "Dear Ed", just to make him feel welcome.

.....put on the spot...err, it's in the manual that's downloadable from http://manuals.wotmeworry.org.uk/Piaggio%20X8/Piaggio%20X8%20400/

From memory it's something like:

Remove the plastic covers from the mirror stalks.
Remove mirrors.
Remove V plate using screws at top and in small grille.
Then you have to remove the whole light housing I think to get to the bulbs from the back.

I only replaced the bulbs once on the X8 and that was only to upgrade them to xenon ones!
