Hi,

Does anyone know where i can buy a reasonably priced top box and fixing kit for my Xevo 400?
The dealer fit kit is around £300.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Givi possibly but I wouldn't bet on it being much cheaper, also I don't really like the givi as it sits up really high to allow access to the boot, whereas the Piaggio one is lower because it swivels. I had the Piaggio box on my X8, the rack is really heavy and I did find that the top box effected the handling a little. It wasn't horrendous but I was aware if it all the time making the front a little lighter.

I decided due to the fact I only used the top box twice on the X8 I wouldn't get one for the Xevo!

If you decide on a Givi, ride down to Firstline Motorcycles in New Southgate; they do good discounts on all Givi boxes and bags.

The rack is the troublesome part, and expensive bit. Source that first then look on Ebay at top boxes and there are ones to be had for as little as £35. Not the prettiest I'll grant you but usable. The release plate comes with the box or maybe the cheap ones bolt on, but you can get decent boxes a lot cheaper than Piaggio, Givi etc. but there isn't any other options for the rack.

Did you get a top box in the end? The OEM box for the XEvo appears to be different to the one I had for the X8 as it's a SHAD one and has "Wagon" written on the side, it looks a little more generic than the X8 one, though it still has XEvo badges on it and you can get colour matched top plates. I just wonder if the fixing bracket is any different on the new style box. Still at £300 for the kit I don't think I'll be bothering!

i'm going on my first weekend away on the scoot this weekend just down to my parents to see my brother off as he's emigrating to San Diego on Tuesday week. I'll only be there for a couple of nights so I probably won't even need anything other than underseat space.
