Morning all - Again sorry for the lack of postings, i really have had a cr4p year what with one thing or another Thought you might like to know my Xevo went into Palmers two weeks ago today to have a 6k service - fix a fuel leak and replace two panels that they broke on the first service in June (And they still have it !!!) - Yes it has taken that long to get the panels and now they have arrived - they are the wrong colour - It beggars beleif it really does. I have made my mind up that i will keep the dam thing until the spring then get rid of. Sorry to any of you lads and lasses that have a passion for all things Piaggio, but my first experience of these have i am afraid to say, put me off for life, perhaps things might have been different if i had not had a "Friday" bike or if i had gone to a better dealer - Oh well we live and learn people !

Well hopefully that'll be the end of your nightmare. Your bike was actually silver wasn't it. It's a strange colour as when I ordered mine the only choices were road coloured dull grey or blue, though Palmers said that they'd just started making black ones. I wonder if you got an "odd" bike altogether??
I'm taking mine up to Lowestoft for it's 6000 service (probably a couple of hundred miles early by the time I get there) tomorrow for Cheeky Tom to work his magic.
In contrast to you I have had no issues other than a single cut out at lights and that's it. It's been 100% fine. Really sorry you've been put off but I don't blame you after your experience.

I think youve been hugely patient about it all, Id have been bashing the dealers and Piaggios heads together ages ago I cant undertand how you got a silver one, as far as I know they were grey and blue from the start. You can now get black but Ive never once seen a silver one, even abroad.

Yes i have been patient - at the end of the day in Palmers defence they have never left me without wheels, if i had had to use public transport to get to work in London, thing might have been alot diffrent. The colour seems to be Silver to me perhaps it is my eyes - anyway with the only options being Blue / Black or Grey/Silver your would think there would not be too much to get wrong would you !!!

I'm sure the colour of yours when you posted pics of the crack in the plastic looked more silver than the normal dull grey colour of the XEvo.
If I had the choice of proper silver I'd have probably chosen that rather than blue. My X8 was grey but it was a much nicer colour metallic grey/silver than the dull tarmac grey they had on the XEvo 125 in the showroom.

Ah, probably is the grey then... pics can lie. It actually looks classy on a nice sunny day though, but not for me. I think our blue is gorgeous and much nicer than the usual black/grey or silver that everyone makes these days. You got the best colour Carmen

perhaps you're right. In the showroom though the grey on the 125 was not at all appealing, no shine non-metallic, it just looked dull. But perhaps under a bit of sunshine it looks better.. Not complaining about my choice though............

Well Palmers have now had the bike a month - more wrong panels sent and the plain ones that were sent were painted and still came out the wrong colour - Oh well the loaner has had over a thousand miles put on it - Might get it back this side of christmas !!

Oh, thats different.... my wifes son had a very similar story with Mercedes that you are having. In the end they gave him a loaner and it was near identical to his troublesome car but better equipped. In the end he said enoughs enough, give me the loaner and keep the car he bought as they couldnt fix it, all paint issues. They agreed, he sold it for more than he paid for the original car and bought a BMW : : Try it, you never know!

Thought things were too good to be true - Picked the bike up and paid my £110 for my 6k service - the day after i took it away the belt replace icon comes up in the dash - Took it back to be told they didn't realise the belt needs to be changed along with the rollers every 6k so it is back in Friday and i am going to be releived of another £185. Is this correct ? My old Majesty had to have the belt changed every 12k - This seems like daylight robbery considering the amount of miles i do on a daily basis. What is everyone elses take on this as i can not afford a £300 bill every couple of months - You advice would be appreciated ladies and gents as i am on the verge of trading it in for another jap scoot ! Thanks people

The belt is generally changed at the 6k service, mine was, but Tom gave me the old one and, like my experience with the X8 it was barely worn, almost new looking. I'm pretty sure it would go on until 12k miles though some say the belt interval is really 8k miles . Piaggio belts are only £35 so generally dealers replace them at every service to avoid an "awkward" intermediate belt change.
WTF are they making you pay £185 for!!! That's ridiculous! You shouldn'treally be paying that much labour if it's their mistake and they should have replaced it at the service.
Rollers shouldn't need replacing at the 6k service. I got mine replaced for Dr Pulley sliders out of choice, but again Tom gave me them as spares, they're not worn. I never replaced rollers in my X8 and I'm pretty sure they were still the originals at the 18k service.
HONESTLY! Please take that scoot somewhere else (to be honest almost ANYWHERE else) as they clearly don't have a clue what they're doing!!! Scootercafe Maidenhead or perhaps Finchley Geomoto.

Just make sure it's not a jap bike/scoot from the same dealer!!
I'm so glad I decided to take mine all the way up to Lowestoft. It's running like a complete dream now after Tom's care and attention (not that it was causing problems before).
Perhaps yours and my scoots are like ying and yang, mines the white half and yours is the evil black half!! (Although that's not completely fair as this latest nightmare's the dealer's stupid fault not the scooter's and it may be the case the whole time!!)

CHange it for the Brevia, then sell the motoguzzi and get whatever you want... from anywhere else.
I'm assuming the guzzi is worth a few bob and possibly more than the scoot though..... however now may not be the right time of year for that plan!!

Uh, naaaah. Financially it may be better to walk right away from the dealer, keep the scoot for a while longer and sell it next spring.
