.. I just put a deposit on a brand new XEvo 400 in midnight blue, getting heated grips fitted too.

I've never had a new vehicle before so this is exciting! I think the only thing I'll miss about the X8 is the seat button on the handlebars which is replaced with a Hazard button on the XEvo - I realised today how much I use that seat button! I'm going to be switching the hazards on all the time!

Still the nicer sophisticated dash and overall "newerness" of the XEvo should make up for that I hope.

Maybe oneday I'll get used to that "beak" too - though in real life it doesn't look anywhere near as bad as it does in the photos. I'm supposed to be picking it up on 28th March all being well (yes the dealer opens on Sundays).

Congratulations, Carmen!

You're quite right - there's nothing quite like owning a brand new vehicle.
I'm sure you'll be very happy with the Xevo.

Thanks Mike, All the miles will be mine, all the marks will be mine, and all the grins mine too hopefully! Even if they're not burger grins.

Lets hope lots of miles, not so many marks and grins are not wholly confined to burger owners.
Why 3 weeks wait though?

Thanks Dave and JohnP.

Yes I'm hoping not too many marks too, the X8 has less marks today it did when I bought it in actual fact!

Well they literally ordered one from Italy today - it's supposed to be 15 days wait, but I'm busy most weekends. I might be able to pick it up a week earlier possibly - if everything's OK. The dealership being open Sundays does help me a bit!

If it was an unknown bike i'd have had a test ride, but it's so similar to the X8 I know it'll be fine, and I have ridden an XEvo 400 when I had it as a courtesy bike from Thompsons a year or so ago, it felt exactly the same as the X8 to ride.
