I imagine that means taking off plastic parts to access it Title: Re: Power socket Post by: Dave Milnes on June 11, 2015, 09:02:00 Again on the X9 the outer ground of the socket tends to corrode and then fails to give a clean connection. The occasional rub with some emery paper and a squirt of WD40 usually restores the connection for a while. The wiring connects with a proper plug onto terminals in the socket rear, unlike car ciggy sockets that often have a stub with a female bullet connector, so the likelihood of it coming off is slim, they are quite tricky to get off, so unless it's been disconnected to remove a panel and forgotten to be re-connected I bet it's corrosion.

I used a large bladed screwdriver and gently persuaded it to release applying leverage towards the centre. The retaining lugs are at 3 and 9 0'clock. Hope this makes sense.
