Title: Fuel gauge reading too low.... Post by: Cyberdave on March 13, 2015, 22:16:41 Hi all,
Long story.... Took my Xevo 250 into QB motorcycles to have a new fuel pump fitted under warranty. They are 30 miles from where I live. Waited a week to collect it. On the ride home I noticed the fuel gauge was showing low - I'd filled the bike before dropping it off to the garage so thought it strange but pulled into a petrol station and started to fill it up. I could only squeezeabout £2 into the tank. It appears that during the fitting process something has caused the gauge to read way too low! I immediately rang the shop but was told that there were no mechanics in on a Saturday and that I'd have to take the bike back in at another date and leave it with them again. Frankly it's too awkward for me to arrange lifts etc so I thought I'd have a go at fixing the issue myself. I'm just wondering if anyone else has suffered with this issue? was it the sender unit? A bad connection perhaps? Also which panels will I have to strip to get access? Thanks in anticipation! Dave Title: Re: Fuel gauge reading too low.... The sender has a screw surround ring and rubber gasket keeping it in place. unplug the wiring unscrew the ring and lift out the unit. Can't tell you any more as I've never seen one, but the above info is in the manual. Title: Re: Fuel gauge reading too low....
